Who controls your data
madeable is operated by madeable llc, who is the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us at privacy@madeable.dev.
What we collect
Account data: your email address, display name, and a hashed password. Content data: the prompts you write, the generated HTML, and the edits you make. Usage data: basic logs, device identifiers, and IP address for security and reliability. Support data: the messages you send us. Billing data: order and subscription records such as plan, price, and status — full card details are collected and held by Paddle, not by us.
Why we use it and on what legal basis
We use account, content, and billing data to provide the service and fulfil our contract with you. We use usage logs and security data on the basis of our legitimate interests in keeping madeable secure, reliable, and improving. We use your data to meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting records. Where we send marketing email or use non-essential cookies, we rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
AI providers
madeable uses third-party AI services to turn descriptions into HTML. Your prompts are sent to those providers only for the purpose of generating your site. We choose providers that do not retain your inputs for model training, and we do not sell your data.
Payments and Paddle
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all our orders. When you buy a subscription or a credit pack, Paddle collects and processes your payment and billing information — including name, billing address, country, tax identifiers, and payment method details — for payment processing, fraud prevention, subscription management, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds. Paddle acts as a recipient and independent controller of that data under its own privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy. We receive only limited order data back from Paddle, such as your order status, plan, and the last digits of your payment method.
Who else we share with
We share personal data with hosting, database, and email service providers acting as our processors; with our AI generation providers as described above; with Paddle as our Merchant of Record; with professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers where needed; and with authorities where we are legally required to do so.
International transfers
Our providers, including Paddle, may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the UK or EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
Cookies and storage
We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and remember your session, and Paddle sets cookies needed to run checkout. These are essential to the service. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies; if we ever add analytics or marketing cookies we will ask for your consent first and let you manage your preferences.
Data retention
We keep your sites and account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information and site content are removed or anonymised within 30 days, except billing and tax records, which we keep for as long as the law requires.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your sites from the studio at any time. Depending on where you live, you also have the right to request access to your data, correction, erasure, restriction, portability, to object to processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your local data protection authority. Email privacy@madeable.dev and we will respond within one month.
Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and other appropriate technical and organisational measures. We never store your password in plain text. No system is perfect, so please use a strong, unique password.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service changes. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or through the studio.
